YES!!!
Yes!!!
The three letter word seems like a very short word but it has so much power and carries a lot of impact. An answer to sometimes questions that were never asked. Someone told me I reminded them of a famous TV producer and my talent for saying NO with so much clarity when anything fun is mentioned. I knew they didn't get me, I just knew exactly what I didn't want, thank you very much.
"And what is wrong with spending the whole weekend indoors" (those were my thoughts in 2019, that is before we all had to stay indoors).
In order to prove everyone wrong that I don't know how to have fun, I decided to say yes to everything I was asked the next day.
Comes the next day
Someone suddenly asks "Would you like to move to Australia?"
I answered "Yes"
Quite proud of myself that I answered and there is nothing else that will happen. I will go back home to South Africa and my life will continue after all, how many people can possibly ask me the same question? Turns out every single person that spoke to me that day. It was as if there was this conspiracy and a bet set to see if I would default on my promise.
I did not.
I find myself four months later in the windy city of Melbourne. It was the craziest and shortest time to prepare to relocate. I would like to say I was well prepared and got everything sorted. But it really took only one month between my application and my arrival.
I had all these plans of places to see and new people to meet. There has been a slight delay in my plan but to be honest sitting at home hasn't been bad. Although my heart goes out to all who have lost their jobs due to the situation.
I have decided to continue to say Yes - lets see where this year of Yes will take me.
