The Joys of Travelling
Travelling has always been something I enjoy, going to see new places, meeting new people and experiencing different cultures also energise me. However, for the past few months (maybe 24 months) I am either planning a trip or coming back from one.
No longer not some fun holiday trip I envisioned when I thought of constant travels. It is work. Again not the "fun business class work trip" type of thing either, we are talking about economy class with four hours layover and about 5 connecting flights to reach your destination kind of trips (why can't we have more direct flights within Africa?) .
It has not always been fun!!!
However, such wonderful views of Abuja, Nigeria just after take off makes it all worth it.
I decided to undertake such hectic trips because the end goal it aligns with the work values I have. I am passionate about Africa growing as a continent the people who live here are the most positive and friendliest people I have met. Always looking at the light at the end of the tunnel no matter how terrible the situation.
I have to say, Africa has some of the most interesting and fascinating spots and people. I enjoy the chance to converse with people of different believes and work experience because it opens my mind to the great talents we have. I wish we as Africans could travel more within our continent and explore the wonders we possess but don't know.
I wish I could travel more but for leisure as the work travel is beginning to take its toll on me. However, when you are doing what you love, you always find the strength to carry on.
