Rediscovered Hobby
So, yesterday HB (real name protected for privacy reasons lol) gave me a novel to read. He did not do this out of the kindness of his heart, it was to shut me up for a few minutes so he could continue with is fantasy football game and to verify if the book was worth reading. After much begging and grovelling I decided to give it a try.
The name of the book is Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman. It is about a man living an ordinary life in London and about to encounter some extra ordinary experience bla bla bla.
You didn't really think I was going to give you the full story, did you? The truth is I am just on page 100 right now but I hope to finish soon then I can give my review of the book and if it was worth my time. So far, the book is quite interesting and I cant wait to finish it. Its one of those books you want to read fast and yet slow so that the joy of it does not finish so fast.
I must confess this is the first non educational-academic related books I have read in a very long time. It brought back lovely memories of when I use to be a novel junkie. So I decided that I will continue on this line by reading at least one novel every week. Since HB has alot of them I don't have to spend money on this rediscovered hobby just yet.

I can't believe you stopped reading novels either. I remember when you'd OD on that a night to your exams instead of preparing for the exams LOL
ReplyDeleteMy dear things change. Then school was a walk through I could afford to do that and still get an A or B depending on what I wanted. But now I do not have any lectures I have to teach myself every software, program, subject I am working on. I don't even want to look at any book after that just watch movies and TV, but I have changed.
